It's been a challenging time for all businesses, big and small over the last couple of months. Our world's have turned upside down and planning for the future is difficult. It's hard to know what's best to do as a business particularly when marketing ourselves.

We want to appear visible but we also want to be sensitive to what's going on around us at the same time - it's a tricky one!

So what can we be doing during this uncertain time?

Getting involved in your local community is a good start...

We love the community vibes we are getting at the moment in our home town, there's a real sense of support for small businesses, shopping small and supporting local produce. There's a genuine sense of looking out for each other, which we love and hope it remains after lockdown has lifted! If there are ways, as a business, you can get involved in your local community then it's definitely worth looking into!

Becoming your own boss...

We love the fact that more and more people are now looking at starting up their own companies. Lockdown has seen a wave in craft making and it's great to see people being creative! Everyone's had a chance to reflect over the last few weeks and some have decided to put this new found skills into a business venture  We know how excited and apprehensive we were when we first started. So if you are thinking about starting up on your own, now is the time to follow your dreams and go for it!

Focusing on you and your existing brand...

If you already have your own business, and feeling like you are stuck in limbo then now is a good time to revisit your brand, and ask yourself - does it convey the message you want it to, particularly to your customers? Does your business stand out from the crowd if not maybe it's time to look at your brand and think about what you could be doing to reach your business' true potential. After all our businesses are an extension of ourselves, our inner hopes and dreams and just like us they deserve some tlc too!
